Chicago based O’Brien Harris Luxury Kitchen and Baths was founded by the international pairing of renowned kitchen designers Laura O’Brien and Peter Harris.

Melding the rich furniture heritage

Peter Harris

Peter Harris graduated from art school in 1987 and began his professional career as an interior design assistant in his native London, England. In the late eighties, at the age of 23, he moved to Manhattan to design for a London based specialty cabinet manufacturer. When the business re-located he chose to stay in New York and spent the subsequent 20 years working for the cabinet industry's pre-eminent retailers such as Smallbone of Devizes/ Siematic,
Clive Christian and most recently
as Senior Designer for Christopher
Peacock Cabinetry.

In 2009 Peter partnered with fellow Designer Laura O'Brien to open Chicago based O'Brien Harris, Luxury Kitchens and Baths. The company has quickly become recognized as a style and industry leader. Peter's work appears across the USA, England and Australia.

Laura O'Brien

Laura O’Brien began her professional career as an interior designer working in Chicago, where she gained experience in both residential and commercial design.

She made the transition to kitchen design in 1995 when she was recruited by Christopher Peacock Bespoke English Cabinetry. She subsequently launched two new flagship showrooms in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart and The Boston Design Center and is responsible for hundreds of beautiful cabinetry installations.

During her career, Laura has been invited to design for some of the country's most prestigious charity show houses, most notably the Infant Welfare Society in Lake Forest, Illinois.

Laura’s work has been published nationally and frequently appears in the industries design press.
